Mary Johnston
Mary Johnston is a contemporary landscape and abstract painter inspired by the beauty and mystery of nature. Growing up near the Great Lakes, she developed a deep connection to the expansive skies, serene waters, and quiet forests that now dominate her work. Based in Carmel, Indiana, with a studio above the Magdalena Gallery of Art, she travels nationwide for shows and is represented by galleries, design firms, and art consultants. Born in Duluth, Minnesota, to a Canadian father and American mother, Mary holds dual citizenship and draws inspiration from her diverse experiences living in New Jersey, California, and Indiana. Her work reflects the vastness of the Midwest, the dramatic Pacific coast, and the tranquil North Woods of Wisconsin, where she spends time with her family.
