Joe and Georgia studied engineering, technology, marine biology, and zoology before moving to Sparta, Missouri in 1975, where they developed skills in wood and pottery. Joe’s lacquered wood vessels reflected ancient Chinese craftsmanship, while Georgia’s sculpted clay work explored terrestrial and marine forms. In 1993, they began working in bronze, learning mold making, lost wax casting, metal forming, and patination to create collaborative sculptures. In 2007, they incorporated cast glass, discovering a balance of materials that captures modern and ancient forms, motion, and fragile equilibrium. Their work combines bronze and glass to create pieces that are both delicate and powerful, reflecting harmony and poise.
