Eric Speyer

Born in Argentina, educated in Denmark and the United States, Erik has been painting his entire adult life, even while pursuing the varied careers of Navy pilot, museum designer, and director. Eriks’ subjects range from land and marine scapes, to still life’s, and portraits, working in both watercolors and oils. He also teaches watercolors to both beginners and advanced students in workshops around the country For him, the most satisfying painting has always been en plein air, where the freshness of the scene is captured on the spot. An inveterate traveler, he takes his paints wherever he goes, finding exciting subjects in such diverse locales as the rocky coasts and seaports of New England, the canyons and mountains of New Mexico, the unique vanishing Everglades, and more. Erik’s work is included in numerous private and corporate collections across the country.
